ESTHER MAY CAMPBELL: WRITER-DIRECTOR

Tuesday 1 March 2016 from 4pm to 6pm in the Jill Craigie Cinema, Roland Levinsky Building

Talk by BAFTA-winning film director Esther May Campbell, plus Q+A discussion

Campbell is a self-taught photographer and film-maker. She has directed low-fi music videos, sex-education films, corporate videos for sailors, and dramas for the BBC and Channel 4, such as Wallander and Skins. Her personal work tells of lost souls, tragic lovers and daydreamers, all very much evident in her BAFTA-winning short film, September. Her feature debut Light Years premièred at the Venice Film Festival in autumn 2015, and is now touring cinemas internationally. She is currently working towards a self-shot documentary, a film fiction and photo exhibition. Working with the Cube Cinema, Campbell mobilizes a community cinema for children affected by the aftermath of the Haiti and Nepal earthquakes.
