Three thousand members of the Iranian opposition “People’s Mujahideen Organization of Iran” (Mojahedin-e Khalq, MEK) who are in Tirana, Albania celebrated the Persian New Year, known as Nevruz.

The MEK members initially expressed their gratitude to their hosts in Albania, well-known political figures like Pandeli Majko, Fatmir Mediu ect.

The leader of the Iranian opposition Maryam Rajavi, who currently lives in France, attended the event and gave a speech to the 3,000 members of MEK.

According to MEK the main fear of Iran is the possibility of the establishment of a strong political opposition party, especially with the support of the international community.

According to Maryam Rajavi, “Today, Ayatollah Khamenei faces three major problems: first, for fear of the resistance of the Iranian people; Second, the US policy in the region, which has seriously alarmed the regime; and thirdly, the dilemma over Khamenei’s successor, which has led to a deep crisis of the regime. Western governments should not swallow against the Iranian regime, elections farce and victimization of the Iranian people. Return Policy head sideways when it comes to human rights, freedom and resistance cannot proceed. ”

Among the people that attended the festival of the Iranian opposition were prominent figures from the United States and France, two countries that have helped last Autumn members of the People’s Mujahideen Organization of Iran to move from Camp Liberty in Iraq to Albania.
