The Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications is preparing for the development of a space launch system called „BURAK“. The project, due to start in 2018, will end Turkey’s dependence on external satellite launches.
The project aims to develop satellite launch systems and technologies in Turkey in the future. The aim is to develop the technology needed for space projects and to create a space company planned for 2023 in line with Turkey’s objectives. One of its main objectives is to make Turkey a priority for those countries that have access to space independently of foreign assistance.
