RUSSIAN NAVY & INDUSTRY CONSIDERING MORE GORSHKOV-CLASS FRIGATES

The Russian Navy and the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) are considering a possibility to build several more guided missile frigates of project 22350, FlotProm online publication said quoting industry sources.

Two more frigates can be ordered at Severnaya verf Shipyard. Consultations with Severnoe designer of the warships are ongoing, one source said. Another source said the Navy plans to get at least three to four additional frigates.

The USC and Severnaya verf which is building the first series of the frigates did not confirm or deny the information. A USC source said the corporation can build two or four additional frigates.
