Immersive Vision Theatre project for Dental goes live

2014-10-22 10.01.01 pmGreat news, we’re really pleased to be able to announce that the ‘Open Wide and Step Inside’ immersive vision theatre project is now live and had its first official showing to school children today. It went really well and feedback from the staff and children was really positive – they were clapping along to the song and shouting out the answers to the quiz so the Dental team were really happy.

This marks the culmination of 12 months of work for the TELMeD team – we’ve been working with the Community Engagement team at Peninsula Dental School with the support of iDAT to get our first immersive vision theatre project off the ground. Over the next few years the project will be showcased to Plymouth school children from around Plymouth,  helping to get key dental healthcare messages across to 5-7 year olds.

Sarah Hill from the dental team emailed us this afternoon with some really nice feedback:

“The children were absolutely amazed by the story/characters and we had great feedback from the children, teachers and teaching assistants as they left the dome. The children were engaged throughout the showings and absolutely loved the quiz, especially the second time around, judging by the noise level!”

The project is featured in an article on the main University website and twitter feed:
