Natalie Raven<\/a>, who is undertaking a practice-research PhD at Plymouth University, is premiering a new piece at the SPILL Festival of Performance.\u00a0Created in 2007 by artist Robert Pacitti and produced by Pacitti Company, SPILL<\/a> is now recognised as one of the world\u2019s premier artist-led festivals of radical live work.<\/p>\n

Natalie’s performance, La Sainte Trinit\u00e9<\/a>,<\/em> questions the visual\u00a0representation of female experience within\u00a0the Christian faith. In it, historical\u00a0images are appropriated, re-staged, reconfigured\u00a0and re-lived in an attempt to oppose the stagnant death of the static\u00a0art object.<\/p>\n

Natalie’s doctoral research, funded by a Humanities & Performing Arts studentship, focuses on the relationships between body and cloth in live art practice. It is located within the Performance.Experience.Presence (P.E.P)<\/a> research group and her Director of Studies is Professor Roberta Mock<\/a>.<\/p>\n
