
{"id":2084,"date":"2017-03-03T09:00:58","date_gmt":"2017-03-03T09:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/artsinstitute\/?p=2084"},"modified":"2017-03-03T09:25:55","modified_gmt":"2017-03-03T09:25:55","slug":"phd-candidate-returns-from-mars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/artsinstitute\/2017\/03\/03\/phd-candidate-returns-from-mars\/","title":{"rendered":"Plymouth University PhD candidate returns from &#8216;Mars&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/benipi.com\">Benjamin Pothier<\/a>, a Plymouth University PhD candidate in\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Planetary_Collegium\">Planetary Collegium<\/a>\u00a0research group, is successfully back from a Mars analog expedition to the Atacama desert in Chile.<\/p>\n<p>On 1st February 2017, he joined a group of explorers and climbers, including astronaut candidates from the <a href=\"http:\/\/projectpossum.org\/\">PoSSUM<\/a> program, for a 15 day expedition to one of the harshest environments on Earth\u00a0and the most similar environment to \u00a0Mars on our planet.The expedition was led\u00a0by Dr Ulyana Horodyskyj, C.E.O of <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceinthewild.com\/\">Science In the Wild<\/a> and a world renowned glaciologist and geologist.
