Her previous work has won several international awards including the Shiseido Photographer Prize at the Three Shadows Photography Annual Award in Beijing, China (2015) and the Reviewer\u2019s Choice Award at the FORMAT Portfolio Review in Derby (2014).<\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/artanddesign\/2017\/mar\/09\/yan-wang-preston-best-photograph-a-chinese-village-tree-syngenta-award?CMP=share_btn_tw\">interview with <em>The Guardian<\/em><\/a>, Yan notes that her main influences as a photographer are\u00a0Joel Sternfeld and her PhD supervisor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plymouth.ac.uk\/staff\/jem-southam\">Prof Jem Southam<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Yan&#8217;s\u00a0work has been shown at the Photographers Gallery, Dublin; Dubai Photo; the 56th Venice Biennale; Three Gorges Museum, Chongqing, China; Wuhan Art Museum, Hubei, China; and the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai.
