Film Still.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>When stepping out of our comfort zones, creative and critical \u2018outside the box\u2019 thinking can thrive with a freedom seldom found in the everyday university context.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Artist residencies create \u2018field study\u2019 opportunities for exploring and offering insights into characteristics of places. This event focuses on outcomes from a partnership with Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre, Cyprus, and on arts practice-research as a means of investigating and questioning histories and narratives located beyond that which is immediately visible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speakers:<\/strong> Carole Baker, Christopher Cook, Stuart Moore and Kayla Parker, Simon Standing, Liz Wells.<\/p>\n<p>This event will also showcase the \u2018Layers of Visibility\u2019 exhibition, curated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plymouth.ac.uk\/staff\/liz-wells\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liz Wells<\/a> and Yiannis Toumazis, Director of NiMAC, that took place in October 2018 in Cyprus.
