The ISEA is\u00a0one of the most\u00a0prominent arts and technology events in the world, bringing together scholarly, artistic, and scientific domains.<\/p>\n<p>Originally installed in Vienna in March 2016, Strang and Uffelen&#8217;s\u00a0interactive\u00a0installation is one\u00a0outcome of an on-going\u00a0collaborative project\u00a0in which they\u00a0explore the relationships\u00a0between light, sound and object. Consisting of three parts, it\u00a0investigates the potential for using digital devices to create a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/what-is-synesthesia\/\" target=\"_blank\">synesthetic<\/a> system\u00a0that enables\u00a0messy and playful ways of communication.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/artsinstitute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/60\/2016\/05\/David-Strang-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-687 size-medium aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/artsinstitute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/60\/2016\/05\/David-Strang-2-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"Transmission Interface \" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/artsinstitute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/60\/2016\/05\/David-Strang-2-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/artsinstitute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/60\/2016\/05\/David-Strang-2-1024x766.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/artsinstitute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/60\/2016\/05\/David-Strang-2-560x419.jpg 560w, https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/artsinstitute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/60\/2016\/05\/David-Strang-2-260x194.jpg 260w, https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/artsinstitute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/60\/2016\/05\/David-Strang-2-160x120.jpg 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Strang and Van Ufferlen&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.transmit-interfere.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Transmission+Interference<\/a> is part of an exhibition of 14 artworks\u00a0presented by the <a href=\"http:\/\/digitalsynesthesia.net\/wp\" target=\"_blank\">DIGITAL SYNESTHESIA<\/a> project in Hong Kong.
