The 2016\u00a0Transatlantic Studies Association<\/a> (TSA) conference will be held at Plymouth University from 4-6\u00a0July.<\/p>\n

This year\u00a0sees the association\u00a0celebrate its\u00a015th anniversary. Plymouth has been chosen to celebrate this anniversary as it was the last\u00a0contact with England for the Pilgrim Fathers before they set sail across the Atlantic in 1620.<\/p>\n

The city of Plymouth will also host the\u00a0400 anniversary celebrations of this voyage in 2020.<\/p>\n

Established in 2002, the TSA is a broad network of scholars who use the \u2018transatlantic\u2019 as a frame of reference for their work in political, economic, cultural, historical, environmental, literary, international relations and\u00a0security studies.<\/p>\n

As an optional extra, delegates can also attend the conference’s dinner\u00a0which will be\u00a0held at the National Marine Aquarium.<\/p>\n

The conference is being organized by Dr Kathryn Gray<\/a>, who is Associate Professor (Reader) in Early American Literature at Plymouth University.<\/p>\n
