Photo by Ammar Abd Rabbo\/ABACAUSA.COM\" width=\"560\" height=\"372\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sourced : Turkish Minute<\/p>\n<p>One of the deputies of Turkey\u2019s intelligence chief has visited Syrian capital of Damascus, according to a recent report in the Lebanese As-Safir daily.<\/p>\n<p>A deputy of Hakan Fidan, head of Turkey\u2019s National Intelligence Organization\u00a0 (M\u0130T) met with high level Syrian intelligence officials in Damascus,\u00a0As-Safir claimed.<\/p>\n<p>The meetings reportedly focused on recent developments in northern Syria, reported the\u00a0daily basing its story on\u00a0\u201ccredible sources.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The alleged visit by the Turkish intelligence official to Damascus came a day after Turkish Prime Minister Binali Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m gave warm messages acknowledging a role for Syrian President Bashar Assad during a transitional period in Syria.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to media representatives in \u0130stanbul on Saturday, Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m said Turkey expects to become a more active partner in regional efforts involving war-torn Syria and is willing to accept Syrian President Assad only in a transitional role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCould Syria carry Assad in the long term?\u201d Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m said. \u201cCertainly not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Turkey, which has not sent an official envoy to Syria since 2011 when a civil war broke out in the country, has been a vigorous supporter of the removal of the Assad regime so far.<\/p>\n<p>Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m\u2019s recent remarks signaled a shift for Ankara with a possible alliance with Assad.<\/p>\n<p>Image Sourced : Ammar Abd Rabbo\/ABACAUSA.COM<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sourced : Turkish Minute One of the deputies of Turkey\u2019s intelligence chief has visited Syrian capital of Damascus, according to a recent report in the Lebanese As-Safir daily.
