Russia\u2019s military has deployed Murmansk-BN most powerful electronic warfare system in the annexed Crimea (Ukrainian territory of Crimea was annexed by the Russian Federation on 18 March 2014), which will monitor all the NATO ships in the Mediterranean, according to the Krym.Realii online media outlet.<\/p>\n

The Murmansk-BN is a world\u2019s most powerful long-range electronic warfare (EW) system developed by KRET, part of Rostec Holding. The EW system are aimed at disrupting radio communications at a maximum range of more than 3,000 kilometers (1,864 miles). The jammer is specifically geared at tackling high frequency communications systems, including the High Frequency Global Communications System.<\/p>\n

The HFGCS is a worldwide network of transmitters which provides command and control communications between ground agencies and US military aircraft and ships. Washington\u2019s military partners in NATO are said to have access to this network.<\/p>\n
