Vice Admiral Clive Johnstone CB CBE, Commander of NATO Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM), attended in Athens, Greece on the 31st of March 2017, the graduation ceremony of 39 Officers of the Hellenic Armed Forces and 2 Civil Servants, who completed an MA in Applied Strategy and International Security, delivered by University of Plymouth in collaboration with the Hellenic National Defence College (HNDC) since 2009.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was organized by the HNDC and the University of Plymouth, England, at the Officers\u2019 Mess in Athens, Greece. Six more Officers of the Hellenic Navy, who graduated from the Hellenic War Risk Scholarships programme of the University of Plymouth, were also honored during the ceremony. The Hellenic War Risk Scholarships programme is being funded and supported from the Hellenic War Risks since 2012-13.<\/p>\n

Vice Admiral Clive Johnstone CB CBE was the main speaker of the ceremony and the topic of his talk was \u201cContemporary Maritime Security Threats in the Mediterranean and the Role of MARCOM in Addressing Them\u201d. http:\/\/www.mc.nato.int\/media-centre\/news\/2017\/remarks-of-admiral-johnstone-during-his-visit-to-the-hellenic-defence-college.aspx<\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by the Commander in Chief of the Hellenic Fleet Vice Admiral Ioannis G. Pavlopoulos HN, who represented the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), her Excellency the Ambassador of Great Britain in Greece, Ms Kate Smith CMG, British Defence Attach\u00e9, Captain Richard Blackwell,\u00a0 the General Director of the Greek Ministry of National Defence\/General Directorate of National Defence Policy and International Relations, Ambassador (Hon.) Mr. Tryphon Paraskevopoulos,\u00a0 Dean Professor Nikolaos Tzokas, Director of DCSS, Dr Fotios Moustakis, representatives of the Hellenic Armed Forces General Staffs and relatives of the graduates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
