Bhadrakumar<\/p>\n<p>The Indian Defense Ministry has contradicted reports of Chinese troop mobilization on the border. In a statement on Wednesday, the ministry said there had only been a general state of alert on the Chinese side and a routine annual military exercise was held near Lhasa, the Tibetan capital, in June.<\/p>\n<p>This is despite a report by People\u2019s Daily on Wednesday citing \u201cexpert\u201d opinions that China\u2019s \u201crecent military moves along the Sino-Indian border \u2026 have sent a strong message to India amid the two nations\u2019 standoff\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The daily assessed that \u201cChinese experts believe that the actions showcased China\u2019s strength and sent a strong signal to India.
