Our demo was presented to various members of the dental team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/96\/2014\/05\/image.png.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-135 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/96\/2014\/05\/image.png-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"image.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/96\/2014\/05\/image.png-300x300.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/96\/2014\/05\/image.png-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/96\/2014\/05\/image.png-260x260.jpeg 260w, https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/96\/2014\/05\/image.png-160x160.jpeg 160w, https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/96\/2014\/05\/image.png.jpeg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Community Engagement Team at the Peninsula Dental School requested a demo for Wrigley\u2019s and GlaxoSmithKline as they saw potential for a community based project to help children with oral hygiene.\u00a0Shortly after, the Dental Community engagement team and TELMeD \u00a0were jointly awarded with a funding grant \u00a3120k to develop the project.<\/p>\n<p>We started development of the project last September with the aim to engage 6-9 year olds in the importance of cleaning their teeth in a 3D interactive immersive experience.<\/p>\n<p>The 3D project has taken the form of a 10-15 minute story of a giant called Geoffrey who finds that after a lifetime of scoffing sweets he finds himself in a great deal of pain with a tooth ache!
