
{"id":1252,"date":"2010-09-13T13:32:15","date_gmt":"2010-09-13T13:32:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/technologyenhancedlearning.net\/?p=1252"},"modified":"2010-09-13T13:32:15","modified_gmt":"2010-09-13T13:32:15","slug":"gleaned-from-alt-c-effective-assessment-in-a-digital-age-and-the-nus-hsbc-students-research-experience-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/gleaned-from-alt-c-effective-assessment-in-a-digital-age-and-the-nus-hsbc-students-research-experience-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Gleaned from ALT-C: Effective Assessment in a Digital Age and the NUS\/ HSBC Students Research Experience Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having just returned from <a href=\"http:\/\/altc2010.alt.ac.uk\/\">ALT-C 2010<\/a> I picked up on a couple of interesting reports.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/whatwedo\/programmes\/elearning\/assessment\/~\/media\/JISC\/programmes\/elearning\/digiassess.ashx?w=163&amp;h=239&amp;as=1\" width=\"98\" height=\"143\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The first of these is the JISC\u2019s new guide <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jisc.ac.uk\/whatwedo\/programmes\/elearning\/assessment\/digiassess.aspx\">Effective Assessment in a Digital Age<\/a>, this demonstrates how technology can significantly improve the experience of assessment and feedback. As many higher education institutions are reviewing their assessment strategies, JISC is looking at the transformative effects of technology that increase learner autonomy, enhances the quality of the assessment experience and improves teaching efficiency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The second report comes from November 2009 and is the <a href=\"http:\/\/resource.nusonline.co.uk\/media\/resource\/NUS HSBC Teaching and Learning.pdf\">NUS\/ HSBC Students Research Experience Report<\/a>, this report discusses the second wave of a programme of research carried out by the NUS and HSBC between May and June 2009 into students\u2019 expectations and experiences of university. The research looked at a variety of areas, including accommodation, finances, assessment, teaching and resources.
