
{"id":3128,"date":"2010-05-14T10:21:06","date_gmt":"2010-05-14T10:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/141.163.141.48:8888\/tela\/?p=3128"},"modified":"2010-05-14T10:21:06","modified_gmt":"2010-05-14T10:21:06","slug":"podcasting-experiences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/podcasting-experiences\/","title":{"rendered":"Podcasting Experiences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Podcasting has many benefits to both teaching staff and students. \u00a0See the examples of good practice below for inspiration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fiona Dalton \u2013 Plymouth Business School<\/strong><br \/>\nFiona has been using podcasting now for some time.\u00a0 Fiona sets her 3<sup>rd<\/sup> year accounting students an assignment where they have to create a podcast detailing accounting practice.\u00a0 This has a twofold pedagogic benefit in that it helps the student to contextualise and understand the subject and the podcasts are then used as a teaching aid for successive cohorts.\u00a0 The podcasts are usually created using Nintex and uploaded to the appropriate module folder on the portal, although Fiona allows her students to create podcasts using alternative software.\u00a0In this <a href=\"http:\/\/technologyenhancedlearning.net\/telatest\/files\/2010\/05\/Learner-Podcasting-by-Fiona-Dalton.mp3\">podcast<\/a> Fiona describes the experiences of herself and her students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stuart Williams \u2013 Health &amp; Social Work<\/strong><br \/>\nStuart has been using audio podcasts with first year students on the Working in Health and Social Care Organisations module for three years and the process has been steadily improved and refined over this time. The podcasts are usually 30-35 minutes in duration and delivered in a seminar format.\u00a0 The feedback from students has been very positive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maggie Hemsworth \u2013 Law<\/strong><br \/>\nMaggie is currently working on creating vodcasts \u00a0for students on the PgDip Legal Practice course.\u00a0 The aim behind these vodcasts is: to give an overview to a particular topic or subject, to explain issues and to give further information on more complex problems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Podcasting has many benefits to both teaching staff and students. \u00a0See the examples of good practice below for inspiration.
