
{"id":4912,"date":"2014-10-08T08:26:41","date_gmt":"2014-10-08T08:26:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/technologyenhancedlearning.net\/?p=4912"},"modified":"2014-10-08T08:26:41","modified_gmt":"2014-10-08T08:26:41","slug":"digithings-evaluation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.plymouth.ac.uk\/digital-education\/digithings-evaluation\/","title":{"rendered":"DigiThings Evaluation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in January Learning Technologists piloted a new method of providing CPD. <a href=\"http:\/\/technologyenhancedlearning.net\/digithings\/\" target=\"_blank\">DigiThings<\/a> was a self-directed, peer-mentored online programme that aimed to support staff with teaching and research responsibilities to explore and engage with a range of different presentation tools and techniques.<\/p>\n<p>It was adapted from Dr Helen Webster&#8217;s &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/dh23things.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>23Things for Digital Humanities<\/em><\/a>&#8216; (DH23Things) course which she ran at Cambridge University. Instructional posts were delivered via WordPress and participants were encouraged to try each tool and reflect on their experiences using the &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/newcurriculum.wordpress.com\/using-ancil\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>A New Curriculum for Information Literacy<\/em><\/a>&#8216; (ANCIL) framework developed by Coonan and Secker (2011).<\/p>\n<p>Although initial interest was high, engagement with the course declined steadily.
