It allows the tutor to see the big picture along with the specific details about the accessibility of the digital course content.<\/p>\n<p>The report shows this useful information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accessibility score for the course<\/li>\n<li>Distribution of course content by content type<\/li>\n<li>List of all issues identified in the course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Staff will see their course content items that have issues and can then access the feedback from the report to fix the issue. Under the Equality Act 2010, students do not have to disclose a disability, so it is important that we ensure our teaching and learning content and platforms are accessible.<\/p>\n<p>Recent changes in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/uksi\/2018\/952\/contents\/made\">UK legislation<\/a> in 2018 stipulates\u00a0that all public sector organisations have a legal duty to make their websites and mobile apps accessible.\u00a0To help support these requirements\u00a0within teaching and learning, Ally for Moodle was procured to improve the accessibility of content within Moodle.<\/p>\n<h2>Further information and support<\/h2>\n<p>Further information and support on Ally for Moodle is available on the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/dle.plymouth.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=11862\">Creating accessible content<\/a>\u2019 resource along with a training course for staff on \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/calendly.com\/digitaleducation\/accessibility-and-ally-for-teaching-and-learning\">Accessibility and Ally for Teaching and Learning<\/a>\u2019 which staff can book on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Ally for Moodle is now live and integrated into all teaching and learning sites on the DLE.\u00a0 What is Ally and how does it work?
