The recording of the Peninsula Arts Contemporary Music Festival premiere of Professor Eduardo Miranda’s symphony, ‘Mind Pieces’ and an accompanying e-book have recently been published by Intelligent Arts, in New York, USA.
Mind Pieces stemmed from Professor Miranda’s research into using computers to harness musical creativity. The e-book is about bringing technology and intuitive musical creativity together. The composer introduces the research behind the composition and the software, which he developed to compose the symphony.
This is the first large-scale symphonic composition for which the composer made extensive use of computer-generated materials. And his fascinating discussion on technology and intuition with Simon Ible, conductor of the premiere performance in Plymouth, opens doors to new thoughts about music.
The e-book is available now from Amazon (for Kindle, Kobo and compatibles) and Apple (iBook format). The recording of the symphony is freely available for listening on-line through Intelligent Arts’ website.
