TURKEY OFFICIALLY REQUESTED THE DEPORTATION OF THE TWO COMMANDOS THAT HAD ESCAPED TO GREECE

The Greek authorities have finally received the official Turkish request for the deportation of the two commandos of the Turkish unit Bordo Bereli that had surrendered themselves to the Greek police last week.
Greek diplomatic sources comment on the delayed request as unusual compared with the fast and aggressive way that Turkey had demanded the eight Turkish officers that had escaped to Greece with a helicopter the night of the failed coup last summer.
This delay is even harder to be explained by the fact that the two commandos were in the unit that tried to assassinate President Erdogan.
The request will follow the same legal way with the case of the eight officers and it will be the decision of the Greek courts to decide if they will be deported or not.
