Plymouth University researcher visits Japan

Adam Benjamin, Lecturer in Theatre and Performance, has visited Tokyo to work with Integrated Dance Company – Kyo in preparation for the company’s upcoming visit to the UK. The dancers will participate in the integrated dance summer school run by the University’s School of Humanities and Performing Arts, and perform Open State, choreographed by Adam, in The House on 2 September. The performance features music by Dr Mathew Emmett, Associate Professor in 3D Design, and Dr John Matthias, Associate Professor in Sonic Arts. Adam has also been teaching at the Deaf Theatre in Tokyo and will be leading choreographic and improvisation workshops in Tokyo and Maebashi before returning to the UK.
