Activities for 2010 are focusing on three areas:

  • employability and employee learning;
  • professional learning and teaching practice.

and include:

1. Evidence-based Practice Seminar Series 2010

A series of 29 free seminars will take place between February and July 2010 to promote the effective use of technology in the areas of: assessment and feedback; employee learning and employability; and professional learning and teaching practice. The seminars are open to all those interested in the topic area, with preference being given to staff working in HE and FE institutions.

Outcomes from each seminar will include a briefing paper for the sector to be disseminated via the Academy’s Evidence Net service.

One of the seminars will be delivered by Dr Neil Witt and Dr Anne McDermott from the Univeristy of Plymouth on 19th May 2010. This seminar is based on the findings from the UsPaCe project and is titled –  ‘UsPaCe: not reinventing the wheel but using the wheels to make a better vehicle: the use of Web 2.0 to enhance the support Foundation Degree students undertaking work based learning.’

The event is aimed at academic and professional staff who are interested in using Web 2.0 technologies to support learners in work based learning. For more information, and the booking form, please visit http://www.help-cetl.ac.uk/?p=4_4
