On Wednesday 5th July the Moodle component of the DLE will be upgraded to its latest version (3.2) to give the University access to the latest feature improvements available, such as:
- Targeted support through the use of ‘User Tours’ or walkthroughs for first time visitors to the site following an upgrade
- Recycle bin for retrieval of course elements mistakenly deleted
- Assignment feature improvements such as on-screen annotation for eSubmission feedback, and downloading a number of selected submissions
- Item ‘tagging’ and enhanced searching
A full ‘what’s new’ breakdown of features and support materials will be available with the upgrade.
NB: On the day of the upgrade Moodle will be in ‘Read Only’ mode for the majority of the day, with a short period of unavailability to complete the upgrade. This will mean:
- All course materials will be viewable but NOT editable
- Student submitted assignments will be unavailable but can be downloaded in advance (see guide here)
- Student participation in Moodle activities such as forums, quizzes and assignments will be unavailable
If you have any queries relating to this essential upgrade work please contact the Service Desk on 01752 (5)88588, or log a query using the University’s IT Self Service system
