The University of Plymouth Colleges (UPC) Faculty (now Academic Partnerships) at Plymouth University required a repository to meet the needs of a regional partnership that would be capable of storing a range of materials including:

• teaching materials that can be used with a range of VLEs in use across the partnership
• research outputs that can be used in a research informed teaching context
• administrative documentation used to support a range of programmes
• documentation to assist with Integrated Quality and Enhancement Reviews (IQERs)

To meet this need, a successful funding bid was made to JISC under their Repositories Start-up and Enhancement Programme

The UPlaCe repository now hosts a range of materials and can be accessed at http://www.uplace.org.uk
