This project aims to develop a novel comic book called ‘Enzyme Digest’. It is based on the enzymes of the Gastrointestinal (GI) tract and aimed at first year medical students. Each enzyme has been granted a character to enhance the learner’s memory and recall. The comic book is supplemented with appropriate medical information and self-assessment questions. The inspiration of the study stemmed from the experiences for year 1 student’s who found it challenging to understand key medical concepts. The student author who is leading this study found comic strip based cartoons to be highly effective in retaining difficult medical concepts.

The project is championed by Rohini Kulkarni (Year 4 student) and Robert Hart (TELMeD developer)
