The University of Plymouth has been involved in a number of projects funded by JISC.
Previous JISC projects include
- The SHELL project to develop the integration of technologies across a consortium involving the University and partner colleges. In particular, the SHELL project aimed to address the increased business need to have a single registration/information up-load for students who move between FE and HE in the region through a student-centred record.
- The Shell-fish to deliver a learning support system by providing learners with a facility to obtain feedback, a development plan and a record of progress related to that feedback.
Current JISC projects include
- UsPaCE – a regional, cross-institutional, collaborative project that will investigate the application of suitable Web 2.0 technologies to support Foundation Degree learners engaged in Work Based Learning (WBL);
- UPlaCe – a repository that uses dSpace open source software which has been customised to support the needs of the University of Plymouth Colleges Faculty’s regional partnership of nineteen further education institutions. It is now in the process of modification to include a wider range of materials and users
- Web2Rights – to develop practical, pragmatic and relevant Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and other legal issues toolkits to support the projects funded within the JISC Users and Innovation Programme in their engagement with next generation technologies
- Pineapple – bring clarity and apply structure to current Accredited Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) work, policies and practice carried out in the University of Plymouth Colleges regional partnership of Further Education Colleges.
