Peninsula Communication Skills: app update

The Peninsula Communication Skills (PCS) app has been well received since its development a few years ago. Students benefit from the apps various vignettes it provides for scenarios such as breaking bad news and my favourite: Dealing with angry patients.

Those that haven’t seen the app before, each vignette hosts videos of good and bad examples as well as some MCQ questions followed by web links for further reading. Upon successful completion of all vignettes, users are provided with the option to download a certificate with their name included which can be saved to their mobile device or printed for bragging rights.

We recently released an update to the PCS app to version 1.1. This version provides the following changes and enhancements:

  • Fixed issues with videos not playing on the iOS13.
  • Updated the layout so that it now displays in fullscreen on larger smartphones such as iPhone X.
  • Improved the general design, including the use of colours, font sizes, and padding to improve accessibility.
